T-minus 2-3 yrs before microsoft drops something like google's stadia but for software dev. I hope y'all like walled gardens because we're all going to be writing software in one soon. Dev communities are smiling with each shovel full of dirt we dig for them of their moat

The efficiency gains this will bring to dev teams will be astronomical, but it will come with a cost of the most powerful creators/makers on earth building within a ecosystem they can't control or feasibly fully leave

@kevinflo If anything, MS has been moving to being more FOSS-friendly over time. .NET Core is all open-source, VS Code is open source, its easy to run a Linux VM on Azure, etc.

I mean, public clouds in general naturally cause a lot of lock-in, but I don't think MS is any different than Amazon or Google in that regard
